Title: Back-stabbing cell phone rip-off merchant bastards!
Post by: that_punk_guy on February 16, 2004, 04:23:30 PM
Arrrgh! I used to put £50 on my phone and SMS would cost 5p each. Then it went up to 7 pence. That I could abide.

I just put £50 on today, even though it's risky financially to do that at this point, because I thought I'd get my cheap texts, so just to test I sent one to punk sis and it's 12 pence for a sodding SMS.

I was so angry, I swore in front of this little boy.

:-x

The best cell phone is one that's been crushed by a 20000 tonne weight, melted in a furnace, dissolved in concentrated acid, and shot off into space.

Cell phones are just a fad. Like all fads, companies cash in like crazy because people aren't thinking. They just want to be like everyone else. I dream of a day without annoying "beep beep" or people phoning each other to say, "That's me on the bus!"

Grrr. :-x

Dude, how can you shoot something off into space if it's been dissolved? ;-)

Dissolving it isn't the problem, it's the solution!

kenny, trust you to hate mobiles.

I find my mobile quite usefull! In fact I've decided that I'll get my home fixed phone line cut off, so, no more home net, but I'll still have phone access in the form of a mobile! :-D

My mobile is actually cheaper than the fixed line too!! :-o

I actually do not even have a home fixed telephone. I spend E30 over app. 2 months in total for my handy. It's bullocks to be 'against' handy's, it's just another new market where a hell of a lot bandits are lurking around to loot you.

even though people do abuse cel phones, they CAN be useful!

used properly, they can be vital.

I hate the idiots who don't know when it's a bad time to annoy everyone with their ghoddamn phone call!

EXTERMINATE!

@tpg

Thats a damn pricy SMS, here we pay 22c + GST, so thats 24c in total. I'd be fuming too.

@all

Yes a mobile is very useful, when used properly, only when its abused does it become another spanner in the works of society. For example, the other day my 10 year old daughter asked me to buy her a mobile phone, naturally I inquired as to why she would make such a request, and she replied "We Stephie's parents bought her one" (Stephie is one of my daughters friends BTW). I was shocked, I'm used to seeing students with mobile phones at the secondary colleges I work at, not that I agree with that, but to see them in a primary school is shocking. Anyway, thats my little rant for the day.

I pay 50p per day, and get 50min of free calls per day.

Texts are 8.5p or somthing like that.

I've been on this contract for 4 years now. Suits me. Ooch!
