Title: Chrome User Question
Post by: XDelusion on July 22, 2014, 04:34:58 PM
I have a customer who I just re-installed Windows 8.1 for. She is a Chrome user, so I installed Chrome along with a back up of her Chrome Book marks.

Now she wants to set up Chrome for multiple users, but under USERS there are no options as there should be. Anyone know how to resolve this?

Yes, the ADD NEW USER, DELETE USER, etc. buttons are not present. It only says USERS.

chrome://settings/

Shows Add, remove, etc. for me on my end under the Users section.  Chrome 36x.

Here what I would try. (Please note that I don't use windows 8.1 currently But I have used it.) Uninstalling and then reinstall if that don't work. Then it a coding problem. If there are favorites make a backup to usb drive.

Oddly enough it was a fresh install for a fresh inistall of Windows 8.1

I removed it, put it back in and now the options are showing up as they should.

Yeah that is odd. There is small chance for file corruption when we download files.  At least it works now.

To make things more odd, I found thread on the Google Chrome forum with this same exact issue and none of the Google techs came in the rectify the guy's problem.
The thread was over a year old.

That is bad. The Google techs didn't think about file corruption.

I don't consider myself a tech. I have built my own computers. If my parents have a problem with their computer they call me first.

Data corruption happens, I suppose.  Glad to hear you found a remedy for the issue.
