Title: Can start OS on A1200

I created a CF Card with classic workbench.
 It works great on winuae.
 but when I try to run on my A1200, the hard drive light stays on and nothing else  happens.
 
 any ideas what the problem is?

What is the CF's capacity?

4gb. , split between dh0 and dh1
 I built the image using the a1200 3.1 rom.
 I hope I don't have to start all over :-(

Maybe the card is not compatible or something went wrong with boot. UAE boots even from a drawer. Check if boot is ticked :-/

sorry, the cf card boots ok in winuae. it's when I try to use it in the A1200 that I have trouble.

the amiga has a aca1232 card - could that be the problem ?

- start from workbench install disk and run hdtoolbox. what do you see?
 - start with both mouse buttons pressed, hit boot options. what do you see?

I got it working by  reseating  the CF cable.
 But when I place the keyboard and  outer case  , the HD light stays solid.
 I think something is touching and causing a short ?
 There is no heat shield. Someone said to put a piece of cardboard under the HD.

does indeed sound like a short, careful with that. wrap it in paper, and make sure no metal parts are touching.
