Title: ImageFX used in my music video

Not sure how many here would be interested, but just in case I'd like to post a link one of my DIY music videos. There is an Amiga connection; all of the still images used in the music video, including the TV bezel surrounding the picture, transparent PNGs etc. were created or manipulated using my favourite image editing program "ImageFX" running under AmigaOS 3.9.

Also, for those interested in chip music & retro-synthy type stuff I should mention the equipment I used: I set out a challenge to myself to make a song almost entirely using the KORG MONOTRON DUO:

This is a $40 toyish sound maker, the size of a pack of cards, that packs a REAL monophonic ANALOGUE synthesizer under its hood. It was released by KORG a few years ago along with the Monotron and Monotron Delay as a sort of experimental plaything and these were the first 1970s/80s-type analogue synths Korg had released in several decades. All synth sounds in the video come from the Monotron Duo except one (the solo at 3:21) which is a KORG VOLCA KEYS (another palm sized analogue synth).

The rhythm comes from a tiny BOSS Micro-BR palm sized 4-track recorder.

So all sounds come from micro-instruments.

In the interest of full disclosure I need to clarify that Sony Vegas was my non-linear video editing software, BUT ImageFX played a vital role in creating all the still images. It also created the important masks used to overlay my image onto the little TV the animals are watching.

These images, transparent PNGs and masks were imported into Sony Vegas where they were merged with the video.

I love using ImageFX. I find I can get so much done with it in a relatively short amount of time.

Yeah I loved using ImageFX too.

These days I just use OpenShot as the NLE. I installed LightWorks but can't be faffed learning it's idiosyncrasies.

Post by: Ral-Clan on June 24, 2014, 07:12:30 PM: I would be interested in hearing how OpenShot compares to Sony Vegas. Vegas is quite powerful, but I'd like to migrate to Linux based applications and reduce my reliance on Windows.

For instance, in my video there was a lot of panning over still images, rotation of still images, use of transparencies and masks. Also the ability to mark time in bars and beats rather than minutes and seconds. I would need something that would do this.
