Title: Problem instsalling 3.1 on Amiga 1200 w/ CD-ROM...
Post by: blakespot on February 15, 2004, 05:11:26 AM
I just towered an A1200.  It has a Blizzard A1260 w/ SCSI kit.  I booted into 3.1 and loaded the Blizzard HD util.  It reports that this IBM DeskStar 2XP (2GB) is greater than 4GB...  So I tell the utils to reload the drive data and then tell it to create a 2047MB partition.  I instal 3.1 on it - but it guru's when it boots.  What is the deal here?

I only intsalled 3.1 to get to 3.9 CD install.  How do I get my system running?  Why did it lock?

Thansk.

Download the softscsi.lha from Aminet. Install it and your problems will go away.

I'm pretty sure 3.9 can be installed over an empty drive. I recommend using HDToolbox to partition everything, I found the Blizzard SCSI tools to be awful and clunky.

Another possibilty could be that you're missing the 060 libs.

Did you remember to install the 68060.library and the 68040.library wrapper?
