The MUI for AmigaOS development team is proud to announce the immediate release of version 3.9-2014R1 of the Magic User Interface for AmigaOS3/m68k. Please find the release archive in our download section http://download.muidev.de/This was announced on Friday, but it looks like no one around here noticed. Nonetheless it's nice to see MUI updates for both 68k and PPC Amigas are back with an active development team.This is the first release of MUI since MUI 3.8. At least a 68020 CPU is required. A faster CPU and a graphic board is highly recommended. Additionally MUI 3.9 will make use of 3rd party system extensions like AfAOS.
Like all former releases a keyfile is required to enable all available settings. Old keyfiles from MUI 3.8 can be used without any restriction.
This release is explicity declared as a beta release, because it been developed and tested on an AmiKit installation running on WinUAE only.
Please report any issues in the bugtracker along with a verbose description of the problem as well as detailed instructions on how to reproduce the issue.
Anyone successfully using it? I can't run MUI (1111 emulator guru) after updating on my 060 A1200.probably best to contact jens or thore on your issue. they've asked everyone testing the release to open tickets at https://muidev.de/query as they encounter them. :)
Certainly interesting.
I may have to dig out the A2000 again.
But how the heck are we supposed to get keyfiles?
Stefan Stuntz has been incognito for some time now.
Have you seen this page (http://www.sasg.com/cgi-sasg/order_info?app=mui)? My understanding is that the keyfile generator is missing/lost, but he'll send you a keyfile in his/someone else's name.
@thread
has anyone gotten past the installation issue and is actually running the new build successfully?

There was no problem installing mui3.9 here. I choose update mui 3.8 and it deleted some obsolete files telling me they would cause problems and installation finished successfully. It's just that it gurus here when I try to launch something mui related.
It works on a clean 3.9 A1200 setup I have.
It bothers me with the annoying beta message very often :(
I think there is an env variable that might disable that (I saw it from SnoopDos). Something like "iknowitisbeta".
I also have noticed that it seems each application uses it's own settings, rather than the attempt at a global one I created.
