Title: Need Beta Testers - CA, AU, UK
Post by: Pentad on June 03, 2014, 06:13:19 PM
Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone in Canada, Australia, and the UK would be will to beta test a new product for me.

Here is the situation and why I'm asking for help:

My friends and I have created a new product called PawPrintsID.  It is a pet tag with a QRCode on the front and an 800 number of the back.  If a pet with one of these tags would become lost, anybody with a smart phone/tablet can scan the tag for information on the pet, the owner, any medical issues the pet has, the pet's veterinarian, x-rays, etc...  Also, as soon as the tag is scanned the owner receives an instant email and text message notifying them that the tag has been scanned (with GPS coordinates and a Google Map).

It has sold well in the states and we have received requests from Vets/Groomers/Owners about bringing the tags to CA, AU, and the UK.

The tag sells for $39 here with no monthly or recurring fee.  $39 once.  I think that is why it has taken off.  We plan on doing the same thing in other countries.

Honestly, I don't know anyone in CA, AU, or the UK.  So I wondered if some folks here would beta test the system in their respective countries?  There isn't much work to it:

-Each beta tester would receive 5 fully working tags which they can keep or share with family and friends.  These are your tags for life.

-Tell me what you think of the account page.  Did I screw up any state, cites, or towns?  Did I make any culture mistakes, any localization errors, that kind of stuff.

-Allow me to ask about phone numbers and cell service.  Like, 'are text messages free in your country?'.

-Scan the tag and see if it works.

Really, that is all I'm looking for.

You can email me at mhart@pawprintsid.com or PM here.

I would love if Cammie was interested because she is smart, computer savvy, from Australia, AND she is a woman.  Woman account for 90% of our sales.

I know Bloodline is a programmer so I would be grateful for him as well.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Thank you for reading this and the help!

Sincerely,
-P

Great plan! We found a stray cat at our office during a very severe winter a couple years ago. After bringing it inside (and christening it as the "office kitty") I was finally able to bring it to a PetSmart (local chain of pet stores) where they scanned it for a chip, and were able to help me reunite it with it's owner, a little girl. As touching as that is, it would have been much easier & faster if it had had a QR code tag on it, instead of requiring me to take it to a pet store that had a chip scanner. Think when I get another cat of my own I'll look into a QR Code tag. Thanks for your product! :)

What about New Zealand? I would be interested, although we do have microchipping down here. Not sure on costs though.

Just to note, a US 800 number is an international call for us and often they don't allow us to connect.  You should have a 13, 1300 or 1800 number here and an 0800 number in the UK.

Hi Som!

If you want to try it out in Sweden I would be honored.  I just have not added Sweden to our system yet.

Send me a PM with a mailing address and I would be happy to send you some tags to try out.

I want to thank everyone for their help!  The first batches go out tomorrow.  I think everybody who replied well pm'd me got a mailing package for tomorrow (I am going to send them out on my way to work).

I could still use somebody in Australia.  I don't have anyone there yet.  :-(

I am happy to include other countries.  The only reason I hadn't thought about it is because I have not added their information into the database.

I really do appreciate the help.

Forgive me, I'm still learning the postal system of other countries and the phone system as well.

I am very grateful to you all.

I will post tomorrow on when everyone should get their packages.

Thanks again!
Mark

We have a dog and a cat but we are from Bosnia and Herzegovina, not sure if this is a interesting market for you. The idea is very nice as an alternative to microchip.

If you are willing we would happily test your system out.
