Title: happy with Elbox service
Post by: klx300r on May 12, 2014, 10:46:56 PM
recently ordered a few items for my 1200 Tower directly from Elbox and found their communication to be much better than in the past and items arrived nicely packed with no issues from customs at the post office so thanks to Elbox for continuing to keep our classics alive and happy  :)

They are awesome, many years ago they replied in 24 hours and solved my problem.

I've had no luck with Elbox, no reply to any emails I've sent for registration. Maybe they've changed.

But 8 months or so a go was my last email, still no reply. Gave up.

I own several Elbox products, but bought these through Amigakit which are awesome.

@ Lurch

I'd give them another try now as it appears their customer service is much better.

If I recall correctly, they have a weird filtering system set up.  In essence you have to contact them with a special email so it adds your email address to their whitelist.

Of course this was from years ago, so I don't remember exactly what it was, but I think the last time I had to email them, they responded within less than 48 hours.

It seems they may be more responsive as the Amiga "market" has taken on more enthusiasm recently:  new hardware and software products released, with new web sites and users.  Elbox's prior attitude was a "shoot yourself in the foot" mentality that forgot or ignored the concept of Customer Service -- something I saw a lot of in certain European countries I spent time in.

Other folks (e.g., Amigakit) seek out your business ($/€/£) and those on the other side of the coin seem to say, "Take it or leave it.  We don't care."

Speaking of Elbox, I ordered one of the new Fast ATA MK-VI for my 4000, should have been here yesterday, but no one was home to answer the door :( so hopefully by the time I get home, I'll have it in my hands :D

We are an official Elbox supplier so if you need any items let us know.  We had a new shipment from Elbox last week of new hardware.  They always deliver promptly to us and respond to us quickly when we request items.

Hi :-) Bought a riser kit for the mediator through the Elbox site, still no updates on what's happening.

Would have bought it through Amigakit but you don't have it listed. Will email them again today :-)

Not sure if you have any influence that could help? The shipping would probably be cheaper through you guys too :-)

I've had nothing but excellent support from them, even for stuff I bought years ago through amigakit.

On to day three. No reply from any of the emails sent. No matter what email address I use, and silly me ordered the riser kit (three days ago).

Not even a confirmation that my payment was received, or to confirm postage details.

Amigakit and even vesalia are fantastic when it comes to communication. A shame that the only place I can get the riser kit is through Elbox directly.

Will keep on emailing. Maybe I will try registering my Elbox gear again for kicks.
