Sweet, thanks for the big smiley list Wayne!
Are there any alternative ways to make clickable URLs appear?
I gather you're somehow supposed to use the buttons in the generate post form, but either I'm doing something hideously wrong, or it doesn't work correctly with any of the browsers I've tried (Aweb, V, IB).
-
Castellen cast about:
Are there any alternative ways to make clickable URLs appear?
;-) A URL works as shown below. Just remember to substitute square brackets for the curly ones.
{url=http://www.amiga.org/}Click here.{/url}
With the square brackets, Xoops will translate it into proper HTML, as shown below.
Click here. (http://www.amiga.org/)
:pint: Enjoy!

it seems alot of AMIGA users will start to use smilies etc now , sounds nasty :nervous:
:-o
-
@Quixote:
Wow, thanks! I'll give that a try next time.
Seems A.Org is always full of nice surprises and hidden secrets.
I don't suppose you can do something similar to change text colour/style?
Perhaps I shouldn't be so lazy and read the site guide :-)
Is there a complete list of text functions in there or somewhere else?
-
Something to keep in mind. I'm working on finding a way for the JavaScript to work on Amiga.org with the Amiga browsers. I've got a working sample on my web site under "Javascript Research" that also has more functionality than the default UBB stylizer that comes with xoops. Doing this will require a complete rewrite of the JavaScript code which may potentially break some functionality. I'll keep you posted as things are updated.

Uhm... guys?
The "more" window pops up just fine in both IBrowse and Voyager. :-) In fact I'm staring at an IBrowse window with it open right now! :-D 8-) :-P
Voyager: available through v3.vapor.com
IBrowse2.3: available through IOSpirit.de
:-P [end :ranting:]

. . ."better late than never" . . .(italian proverbio) :-)
But . . are you talking about of HERE (http://www.amiga.org/misc.php?action=showpopups&type=smilies&target=message)
or through automated javascript?
Ciao

@Castellen:
;-) As before, just replace the curly brackets with square ones, and Xoops will translate the codes to proper HTML for you.

(Try not to overuse this one. Large images, or many images, increase load time, especially when imported form other servers. Remember that some users are on dial-up connections, myself included. It's a judgement call. Just be mindful of the above and you should be all right.)

:pint: You can also nest the codes inside each other, but you don't want to overdo that, either. That's it. Have fun!

After nearly 10 years I decided to post a message again. :D

Don't exaggerate - just 8,5 years (how time flies...) :roflmao:
