So as everyone knows, I grew up with OctaMED S.S. and am rather fond of it. I had a lot of fun making tracker tunes back in the day, and in recent years have turned towards MIDI and external instruments.
Though my experiences with this seem very hit or miss.
For example, I have an Akia MPX8 Sample Pad which uses MIDI channel 10 and has 8 sample banks.
I can merely boot up OctaMED, not even configure MIDI, hit a key on the MPX8, and OctaMED picks right up on it, strange.
Though to trigger the sample banks within OctaMED, I have to set the first instrument as MIDI Channel 10 and crank up the volume settings. Then when I press a key on the Amiga keyboard, it will play a sample on the MPX8. Though when I play the MED file...
...nothing happens!
I had created this thread on Akia's site a while back:
http://community.akaipro.com/akai_professional/topics/mpx8_midi_output_not_responding
As fate would have it, I can't log in there as it claim my e-mail adress was never associated with the site. Grand. Anyhow, as you can see by reading through the post, I was able to get things working, but now I've came back to it, and I'm in the same freaking boat. My midi settings are configured correctly, everything is ready to go, and yet it does not work.
Should I revert back to an older version of OctaMED, are they less buggy?

Odd... I loaded up an old blank MED which I preconfigured for MIDI and my various instruments, and through it I can make the MPX8 play back when I start the track, but when I start from scratch using the same exact settings, I fail every time.
