Without RTG?
What can you do with that?
-
Perfect!!!
I haven't tried mine yet.
I love those red green lcds
-
I think you have some form of RTG with the Indivision ECS?

Nope, Picasso96 driver is a first April joke ^^

Dunno if it's of any use in this case since it's really slow and have very limited memory.

Man, I thought this was going to be about one of those KCS "Power PC" 8088 boards you could get for the 2000 and 500 back in the day. Nicely done!
I wish those cards weren't as scarce as hen's teeth (and priced accordingly), though...Pick up a nice clean 500 for a song, an ACA, plus a BPPC...it'd be neat to have to play with!
As someone else mentioned, I think the better bet would be to go with an A2000 solution (I think there's an "ACA-2000" coming? Yes/no?) and go that route. Mmm...PPC A2000 (yes I know there's a one-off using a prototype blizzard card out there).

Indivision ECS provides modes like 800x600x16 colors, 1024x768x4 colors, HD720 x 4 colors, etc. I've used them all before on mine. With enough processor oomph the 800x600 mode can be pretty nice, but is hampered by ECS bus bandwidth. I've heard there's "RTG" drivers for the Indi, but from what I understand they're slower than things like SuperPlus.
Also - get a case for that darned ACA500! Can you imagine zapping that rare PPC board with static electricity from walking across your carpet and then brushing against it? The "Crystal" case is okay, but still a bad design not making it internal, IMHO.

Wasn't there some one who made a Picasso96 driver for the Indivision ECS?
-
Nice work!
I wonder if a CyberstormPPC>Micronikz3>ACA500>A500 would work.... :D

The nicest A500 setup I've seen yet, love it!
What's the expansion bay on top ?

+Mediator+Radeon would be a cool hack. :)

Ultimate FrankenMiga 2014...!
-
Very cool!
Has anyone tested a 80Mhz Apollo 060 yet?
-
If an ACA2000 is introduced this could get interesting.
With RTG could an A2000 run MorphOS or OS4?
-
All we need now is a new graphics card, the price even the very old one go for are insane.
-
Run PUP MorphOS 0.4 (support ECS/AGA), native mos/CGX-AGA.elf (http://skolman-mws.w.interia.pl/mos/CGX-AGA.elf) speedup driver (http://aminet.net/package/driver/video/CGX-AGA).
How connect monitor PAL/NTSC my Amiga it test it native DIGIBooster3.

It's a wonder they didn't include a PCI slot or two on that puppy.
-
...or PCI-E.
-
OS4 on A500 link (http://www.a1k.org/forum/showpost.php?p=707834&postcount=473) (with BVision)
-
Totally awesome... but install os4 on a500 is a step backward =)

Cool to see that it's possible but not very practical.
:)

Very cool, crazy but very cool

Whoa! MOS 3.x and OS 4.x should also have that for Nostalgia reasons
-
That is definitely a killer Amiga!!!!
-
In-cre-di-ble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice. However, the A500 has a 16-bit data bus and the BlizzardPPC uses a PowerPC 603e (64-bit bus) crippled to a 32-bit data bus. The BlizzardPPC would be better suited for an A1200, A3000, or A4000.

That would be a nice addition to MorphOS.
It would help a lot of programs run.
Along with the sound driver Xdelusion has asked for, it could give us an additional measure of compatibility.
Bounties anyone?
-
PPC on A500? Meh.

It would be nice to see some PPC benchmarks comparing the A500 and A1200.
Now hopefully Jens make an ACA-CD32 so it can be tried with that too. :)

Well I hope one day RadeonHDs GPU will prove enough mature to emulate AGA  Same goes for Paula and CIA on some sound chip, FPGA or XENA and would live happily ever after ...

He has! He is just working on getting it released!
Oops. Sorry. I thought it was April 1st ;)

Or G-Rex + Voodoo.

I don't know if you heard about this. Although getting the hardware is even more difficult than a BPPC.
