Title: Amiga Forever for Wii/Wii U
Post by: XDelusion on January 25, 2014, 06:02:40 PM

So what ever became of this, why still no release? The Wii is old news, the future is now Wii U, so where is Amiga forever? It would be PERFECTLY at home on the Wii U! Heck they could release single titles as VC's or $20 game packs packing in 20 games at a time, anything, I don't care, where is it?!?! :)

The Wii U was stillborn in the market for which it was intended, nevermind emulating old machines.

If someone is developing niche software for the U, I feel bad for them at this point.  I've had a Wii U collecting dust for ages.  Used it for 2 weeks.

Exactly, just like Amiga development, a total waste of time. Or is the Wii U having a hard time for lack of faith, investment,  releases, and bad press in the media... before the thing even came out.

in my house the WiiU is king so I suppose it depends on the audience as my 9 and soon to be 6 year old & myself have a blast on the WiiU especially since every single Wii game we have works on it!

That being said about the Wii U - I actually had a lot of fun with it, for 2 weeks.  But the developers simply were not behind it, it came out half baked in regards to media box functionality, etc.

Shame really, cause it's really a unique little system.  Nintendo is still banking on their exclusive franchises, and I fear it's gonna be the death of them entirely.

Well for those looking for something new and fresh on the Wii U, UnEpic just came out for download on the 16th. The perfect game if you are looking for a Metroidvania RPG with a sense of humour.
Likewise, Mutant Mudds Deluxe is also a lot of fun, and reminds me of the sort of game play that would have appeared on the SNES to show off it's new MODE 7 effects, except for now those 3D/multi-layering effects are on crack!

there is a Wii Amiga EMU for Homebrew but the Wii is not quite grunty enough for it.

I've got that installed. Matter of fact the first day I brought my Wii U home, I instantly hacked the vWii, had to be done! :)

I'd just like to see an Amiga offering for the main stream. It's not right that only people who know how to hack this stuff can enjoy it. :)

Now there is a 68k JIT for PPC the Wii should be fine for Amiga emulation once it gets ported from the OS4/MorphOS version.

Actually, UAE on the Wii isn't bad. It just got another update a few days ago in fact.
JIT would not hurt, but it certainly won't bring much new to the table. With the system's RAM limitation, we still won't be able to do much more than play games with it.

I'd just like to see a nice polished pachage released, or some VC channels. Would be AMAZING to be able to fire up Myth on a VC and rather than have to remove a hand from my controller and reach out and press the stupid space bar to change weapons...
...I could just press Button 2. :)

EDIT: On that note, are Euro game devs on crack or what? They had acess to more than one button and they ignored it, thinking that removing a hand from a controller and reaching towards the keyboard would be more practicle. Crazy!!!!
