Title: I'm constantly being logged out...
Post by: Ral-Clan on January 21, 2014, 02:25:34 AM
About a month ago - I don't know why - I started having trouble staying logged into Amiga.org.

I log in at the top --- Amiga.org says "Welcome back" and refreshes the screen and I am logged out again.

I also must log in from the main page.  If I'm in a thread page and try to log in it never works.

The only way I can log in when this starts happening is to clear the browser cache.  This usually fixes things for a while (until I visit A.org again).

It's getting really annoying.

I'm using the latest FireFox browser under Windows XP SP3.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Get it over with by checking "Register" and then type in your credentials.

Everything is fine after that.

So what does that "register" check box even do?

I was having the same problems when I saw this thread. Thanks for the info. Ticking the register box when logging in seems to have fixed the problem for me (so far).

Seems to work now.  Thanks.  Side effect is that I'm logged in even when I first visit the page during a browsing session.

Correct.  This sets a cookie to keep you logged in permanently, unless you delete cookies.  Welcome to the web circa 1995.  ;)

Ticking the box works. I used to have the same issue and it solved it.

Another quick fix is to click on forgot password (after logging in where it suddenly logs you out). Then, don't go through the process but, instead, click on home. Suddenly you're logged in. BUGGY.
