Title: A600 floppy stopped working...
Post by: AmmoJammo on January 10, 2014, 06:56:46 AM
Strange story...
I was unscrewing the floppy drive to remove the motherboard, as I was replacing all the capacitors (through hole included) and the A600 slipped out of my hands, and fell flat on the bench (maybe 20cm drop, didn't sound very nice)

Well, I went about replacing the capacitors, then went to test the board (not in the case) with the floppy sitting next to it.

Didn't work :(

Pulled the disc drive apart, cleaned it, reseated all the ribbon cable plugs...

Didn't work :flak:

So, I just stuffed the motherboard back in, reconnected the compact flash card, stuffed the lid on (literally, there's a slot load dvd rom drive in the case) screwed it all together.

DVD wasn't connected, as I haven't sorted out cables yet...

plugged the A600 it back in...

floppy drive works...

:bitch:
