I stumbled upon this article written Dec 9 about the Commodore 128 by Bil Herd. A great story to be sure but the real treat is in the user comments. Bil, Dave, and other speak on all things Commodore and reply to Sinclair fanbois:

Enjoy,

Yes, this has been mentioned before.
Herd likes to pat himself on the back almost as much as Haynie.
Neither are the genius' many of you would give them credit for being.
And, as I have said before, the C128's true benchmark is its residual value, which is lower than the C64.

You can tell that to Bil and Dave in-person. They will be appearing at the spring 2014 Vintage Computer Festival East 9.1 in Wall, New Jersey. Bil will be doing a session on repairing monitors, and Dave will be speaking about the History of Commodore, part III (part I already done by Chuck Peddle and part II already done by Bil Herd a few years ago). http://www.midatlanticretro.org/

And yet, the plastic C128D and the metal C128DCR are highly sought after.
Merry Christmas!

Thanks, maybe I should go, if only to temper my crappy attitude.
And I look forward to seeing any of my fellow Amiga.org posters there.
Yes, definitely, lets all go.
