Excellent!
I have a sneaking suspicion that I really don't need to say..." I hope you enjoy it" :)
-
That's awesome! That series is my fav series on the Amiga alongside Lotus and Alien Breed. Enjoy! :)

Personally I never played the first SOTB, but I do have the SOTB 3, which at the time it blew my mind. I could not believe the graphics and sound on that game.
I do have the SOTB on the LYNX, which I played for a short time. Did anyone compared both games to each other???

Have never tried the Atari Lynx version, but graphics are a lot better on the Amiga, but understandable because of the hardware and the 160 × 102 screen on the lynx. But seems to be a quite decent port, I must give it a go :)

This is a video which shows the differences between the different versions.

There is another which shows the different versions of SOTB2 which is even weirder. I'll try and find it. Also there is a podcast which goes through every version with the music and sound effects. It has commentary and everything.

This game is why I bought an Amiga. My neighbor showed it to me. The sound, the graphics. I was sold!

I honestly never realised how good the Amiga version was... I just accepted it as normal.
I always preferred SOTB 2 for both game play and graphics/sound. The only thing it lacked was checkpoints.

I agree that the second was best. The story is fantastic. The music is atmospheric. So is the gloomy colour palette. But the second didn't have the parallax scrolling...
Have you heard the studio remixes of the music? There is a remix of "forest" from the first game. It's magic. It's on the Immortal CD (which is impossible to find a copy of btw).

You mean the guy who posts games up for stupidly high prices? Either your bro is in the mafia or he won the lottery if you got the £550 copy from ebay lol
I also had a package go missing and I didn't like the customer service I received to be honest so given the ludicrous prices and that experience it's fair to say I buy from elsewhere now.

Didn't like the graphics or music of SOTB 2, was so disappointed when I saw it. Where had the jaw dropping SNES ASS KICKING graphics gone? They were replaced by something that looked like it was ported from the ST by people with retinopathy doing the graphics :(
SOTB is a game designed around the Amiga hardware, every last bit of hardware (even the inferior to the C64 sprites) and for that reason the above ground level looks worse on every other machine. If only every game had that sort of talent put into the audio/visual aspect I would gladly have paid £25-£30 for games (or £35 with the T-shirt).
Does anyone know why they never did a VGA version for the PC? (stop laughing!!)

Dear Amigans:
yes, is the same guy who sells amiga games for ridiculous prices.
But this copy (is original) was a special version called sizzlers-SOTB
and it only costed usd 25 (around that amount, can't remember).
The only thing I was afraid is that someone else buy it before I do,
the price was so good I made my brother buy it.
The game -original disks- came with the box and manual.
Yes, I was impressed with the price too, I asked my brother and
he bought it for me.
And amigaheaven, also has a few other games I like for a very
inexpensive price. Some games are pricey, but some are very
inexpensive.

Schneikies!
and to think I just threw SOTB into the deal when I sold my A2000 a few years ago.
-
amiga easily the best looking version.. I too would like to see comparrison of SOTB2 as I remember the Amstrad Version being pretty impressive considering
-
@Kesa - Found the SOTB2 comparison video yet?
-
my mistake was thinking of later levels in sotb for the cpc, as usual nostalgia made me remember it being better than it was. Dont think sotb2 was released on cpc
