-
Depends what you exactly mean by animation program. DPaint is a good start for making animations.

Hi and thank you Dpaint is awesome very pleased best wishes Brian.

dear friend:
I highly reccomend moviesetter.
Is very easy to learn and use.
You can make nice 2d cartoon animation, from a stickman
to a nice anime style.
It is one of the programs that Eric Swchartz used for making his
aerotoons amiga cartoons.
I use moviesetter and I really love it.
Good Luck !!!

Hi do you know where I can get moviesetter from only I have just looked on aminet and there were some demo examples of using the program I could not see the moviesetter program best wishes Brian.

Moviesetter was a commercial program, so you'll have to scour eBay (or Google...).
-
Dear Friend:
I have good news for you.
The complete legit moviesetter came for free in an old CU amiga magazine
coverdisk. The magazine even came with the complete and printed manual
for moviesetter.
I used to have both, but do not know if I still have it.I can check for you,
and if I do, i would send it to you for free, but please pay shipping.
I do not need the coverdisk, as I have the complete moviesetter original
and commercial package.
Cheers !!!

Dear Friend:
I have very good news. If you get moviesetter, is very easy to learn and use.
If you do the tutorials in the manual, you will easily can create cartoon animation.
If your artistic skill is zero, you can still easily make animation like a stick man.
But if you start learning how to draw on paper, eventually your skill with
moviesetter will grow and you can get better and better at making cartoons in
amiga. Also start learning to make pictures in deluxe paint or similar software, it
will increase your skill and you can export dpaint pics into moviesetter.
MOVIESETTER IS VERY EASY TO USE !!!
Start drawing on amiga.

It came free with CU Amiga's. Apr 95 issue in the uk

Another Paint / Anim program you can use is Cloanto's Personal Paint v7.
It supports custom screens, AGA, and multiple file formats, like JPEG, BMP etc.
I use it more then Dpaint.
Another anim program you can try is Disney's Animation Studio.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSeYivHZpB8
And another item, if you are more serious about your animations, you probably need a graphic tablet. Old WACOM serial work good with accelerated Amiga. When you are interested, I can dig one out and tell you the model number.

Model # please. :)
It's ArtPad II Model KT-405-R
This Pad works good with Wacom Drivers found on Aminet here http://aminet.net/package/driver/input/Wacom_150 . To use it, you'll need 9-25pin serial converter.
There are bunch of these cards for sale on ebay w/o the pen, but here is the pen you need: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wacom-Duo-Switch-Ultra-Pen-Holder-UP-801E-OOH-Mac-PC-/291001001852?pt=US_Graphics_Tablets_Boards_Pens&hash=item43c102e77c

Excellent my friend the weekend is coming up and I will certainly be having a look at the free lessons I think I could do with some lessons because I am not the best drawer by a long way ,do you have any drawings that you have done and would like to share because there must be a lot of Amiga users who would gain a lot from some one like your self ,just a thought and my very best wishes to you Sir ,Brian.

Hi I had a little trouble with this one I downloaded it but it kept showing an error ,so I left it at that and went on to D/ PAINT which I like and Moviesetter but I don't have a manual to that one yet ,thanks for your input ,best wishes Brian.
-
dear friend:
I also have disney animation studio. I haven't used it yet, but is installed
in my HD and works fine. I checked it out a little bit, and it seems amazing
and good enough for doing great animations.
I believe it will be good for you to use disney animaton studio.
I also believe you can get as good (3d art)as I am, you just need
to start working dedicated and keep on. Eventually, you will become very
good.
Love !!!

Thank you for your kind words and I promise you I will settle down and begin to learn ,its been busy for me the last few days as I have 5 vintage computers arriving shortly so I am preparing a place for each of them along side my beautiful Amiga 1200 and baby Amiga 600 ,just incase you are interested my vintage computers are as follows
two Vic 20,s
one commodore plus 4
one commodore c 64 c
and one c 64
also a sd card reader that works with any of the five vintage computers
a psu power supply for the commodore plus 4
so as you can imagine I am very excited but really need to begin my Animation learning , so very best wishes Brian xx

Hi,
Do a search on YouTube for "Amiga Deluxe Paint". There are several tutorial videos for using it for animation on there. These are videos that were sold commercially in the 1980s/90s.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S04TCNGkSD4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfc0Slzf-sY
Deluxe Paint IV and V and Disney Animation Studio are the best because they have onion-skinning. I tried MoveSetter but didn't like it because of the lack of onion-skinning, which makes it really hard to base the next frame on the old one (you can't see the old one). I don't know how Eric Schwartz did so well with Movie Setter.
