Title: How to do a delay?
Post by: Gav on February 07, 2004, 07:57:00 PM
Yeah powericons has been bugging me for ages now because when i change an icon on my desktop and reset it just goes back to the standard 3.9 icon set..Why is this?Someone said to try setting a delay in the startup but i dont know how to do this so can someone help?
If i change icons in any of my folders they work fine but not on the desktop..
Thanks

if you own OS3.9 the entire amiga dos manual is on the CD in html format, I suggest you read it, its bean a god send here :-)

to answer your question, edit your startup sequence and just above your call for powericons put:

"wait x" where x is the number of seconds you want to wait for... simple :-)

Not sure about Powericons, never used it.
But I guess you'd save the icon set by selecting them all and going to "snapshopt icons" from the pull down menu.
Then to save the RAM disk icon, you'll have to copy RAM:disk.info into into ENVARC:Sys/def_ramdisk.info

If you run Powericons from Startup-Sequence or User-Startup then use Ryu's idea.
Or if it's in WBstartup, then add an icon tooltype like: STARTPRI=-100

And as Ryu said, don't forget to RTFM :-P

hi Gav,

put PowerIcons 1.05 just before LoadWB in your S-S:

Run >NIL: PowerIcons SCROLLSPEEDUP NOGHOSTSELECT GHOST=100 SELR=96 SELG=80 SELB=80 TEXTMODE=2

C:LoadWB

EndCLI >NIL:

Let me know

Ciao
