Title: CD32 controller or controller port problem?
Post by: orb85750 on October 03, 2013, 05:16:10 AM
Anyone know how I can tell whether a problem is with my CD32 controller or the port itself? (I have only one controller.)  The main directional and red button work, so some games are fine.  But for games that require the use of more buttons, such as Guardian, some are not responsive.  Furthermore, I was able to break out to the pause screen without hitting the pause button -- seems pretty strange.  Hmmm....  Thanks for any suggestions.

The original Commodore CD32 Controller breaks very easily. The best controller you can get are the Honeybee CD32 Competition Pro Joypad.

Is the game Guardian you have an original CD32 CD or a WHDLoad game? If it's the latter sometime the game doesn't work well on the CD32.

It's an original CD32 controller and an original CD32 Guardian game.  Thanks -- the Honeybee looks to be rather pricey.

or if you have another Amiga (non CD32) you could test your joypad with the Advanced Amiga Analyser floppy or Joytest from http://kung-foo.net/zener/works/joytest/joytest.lha
