He ain't Hip-Hop, he's just another commercial rapper. Same as Lil Wayne. It shamed me to hear him give props to Skinny Puppy.
Sorry, feeling a little anti anti today.
-
I have no desire to listen to the talentless turd... What did he say?

Sums up my thoughts.

@bloodline
Some people like his music some don't. His net worth is about 100 million. If you listen to the last minute or two of the interview you will hear him mention the Amiga when he is talking about a passion and excitement for new products of the past.

I agree and I think it's a bit shameless of the admin to post links here for people to buy Kanye's products. What's next? Admins pushing tooth whiteners and breath mints?

Just because he's amassed a fortune doesn't mean anyone should want to listen to him, or that he's talented.....One man's "talent" is another man's trash. I never gauge the value of an individual by their wealth and find it offensive that you suggest we should listen to this clown just because he's wealthy.
-
Glad you told us the part where he mentions Amiga is in the last minute or two, I'd hate to sit through an hour of his BS. And the itunes link, etc., was completely unnecessary. :angryfire:

Lulz, my question is if he kept interrupting the interviewer repeatedly, talking about the Amiga.

I don't mean to offend anyone who likes his work, everyone has a right to enjoy whatever art they find most appealing... I'm curious as to the context of his Amiga interest :)

I have the same question. Was he an Amiga user years ago?

Amiga attracks some *interesting* (er arrogant) people. Kanye West, Ben Hermans, etc...
-
OK, I wanted to know ... and it was REALLY hard to listen to but I did the last 5 minutes. Even the interviewer had NFI what the rant really was about.
The mention of Amiga was with a whole bunch of other iconic products (at least it is viewed as iconic here) and he was associating his passion to the passion of people who love those products.
-
Did he jump up in the middle of a Microsoft presentation and shout Amiga should have been here?
-

Haha, I was just thinking of something like that :)
-
I've never listened to his music so don't know if it's good or bad. Music is a very personal thing. It's nice that he likes Amga and took a second to mention it. Most celebrities no longer do that.
-
He never actually said he liked liked Amiga. Anyway, i listened to the last 5 minutes of the interview and i have formed the 2 following opinions. That guy talks weird. Kayne West talks weird too.
-
Kanye West likes
Amiga yes! :Fishsticks no!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fishsticks_%28South_Park%29
on a more serious note a celebrity indosament would help
the amiga no end.
-
Did he jump up in the middle of a Microsoft presentation and shout Amiga should have been here?
He would have gone up in my estimation had this occurred ;)
-
A celebrity likes the Amiga? Big deal. Who cares about what those celebrities do, want and care about anyway? Am I really supposed to give a damn?

You don't have to give a damn. Celebrities mentioning Amiga do help the brand and increase sales since so many try to copy what they do and recommend.

Is that a good thing? Do we really need hordes of sheeple embracing the Amiga, a line of machines they know nothing about? I don't see how that's going to do anyone any good.
-
I LOVE the anti-celeb corporate whore sentiment being expressed here! ;)

No, it's better keeping it at the hobby level, thus, inceasingly prices to insane levels and only a few who can afford it(a la os4).

So what did he say? I dont care for the idiot and dont want to listen to 5 minutes of crap just to hear "...and cool things in the past like..cassette players, umm...Apple II....uumm..yo dawg.. Amiga."
LOL @ the buy it links..makes me laugh that we're stooping low to peddle music. Is the referrer AO? or?
-

Shame about the prices, sure, but what do you think would happen to Amiga if it became more mainstream? Do you think it would stay Amiga? Anyway, it doesn't really matter, because it ain't ever gonna happen.

Exactly, if Amiga went main stream, it like so much else, would get sold out and loose it's soul.
Besides, I'm quite content with MorphOS's pricing. And after hearing the news about how the OS 4 team shut down alternative Radeon driver efforts, I'm NEVER going to support them anyhow.
As for my classic... I expect hardware expansions for vintage computers to be expensive. It's just part of the territory.

Well he is a Kardashian after all....

I wondered what on earth you were on about then before remembering there was some issue between the developer of the Open PCI Radeon driver and Elbox.
OS4 team had nothing to do with this so I'm not sure where the confusion came from.

What the hell is up with beating on SysAdmins lately? Could care less about Kanye West, but did find the fact he mentioned the Amiga interesting. The tidbit is still relative to an Amiga site after all. ;)
Anyway, wouldn't it be interesting *if* the demographic that follows celebrities like him, embraced the Amiga platform? Pretty sure they'd be injecting more "soul" into it than most of us ever could.
-
because is another useless thread...

So you are suggesting we turn Amiga.org into a celebrity gossip site? Now i shoot you! :uzi:

You're suggesting it isn't already?
Piru, Wayne, Jens, Redrumloa, Franko, Bill, Petro, etc.?

Indeed. Welcome to hobby land :)
-
because is another useless thread...
I don't normally get involved in these sort of threads but I too am getting pretty fed up of reading them. They're boring and they're annoying a lot of people. I just wish we had more real Amiga threads - seems to be a shortage of those unfortunately.
-
Let's face it Kayne is Loco in the Cabasa. (Crazy in the head) George Bush doesn't like Amiga Users.:roflmao:
-
This interview has been getting some attention in the media.
http://www.eonline.com/news/462553/kanye-west-kim-kardashian-gave-me-everything
I have not listened to his music in the past but will listen to some of his top songs when I have some time.

Sorry to bore you but you don't have to read the thread. The Amiga was mentioned in this celebrity interview so it is Amiga news. You are welcome to search the web for Amiga news and submit it to Amiga.org. More Amiga news needs to be reported when it happens. I don't have the time to find it all myself but do try my best.

It's the passion about opening the box though, so it's quite shallow really.

Depends on which Amiga. If it's an A4000T then the box wouldn't be that shallow. ;)
-

We agree on this one....
-
I have not listened to his music in the past but will listen to some of his top songs when I have some time.
seems he did a good job to advertise himself, and you also fell for it;) not that its a bad thing he mentioned amiga, this is called product placement, and is being paid for, perhaps its one of still ongoing barrys deals, he decided to honor whatever happened to the counterpart.

Let's not mince around the truth. You're whoring for click-throughs. While the original post was vaguely Amiga related, was this?
http://www.eonline.com/news/462553/k...-me-everything
Not in the least. Tripe. If I printed it out to read it on the crapper, I'd feel dirty if I wiped my bottom with it. You should be ashamed for dragging that kind of crap here, and that goes a lot deeper than "don't read what you aren't interested in". It's been a long term problem here, from electric car discussions to 1000 different Windoze and Google spam threads just to rustle feathers.
Good people have already left over stuff like this. It's actually a running joke that there's more real Amiga talk on Moobunny than on A.org. If that doesn't keep you up nights, I'm not sure what will, lol. You'd probably be wise to pick whether you wish to remain a respected Amiga site or a TMZ equivalent of an "Amiga" site.
-
@Duce
Thanx for the feedback, we do appreciate it and use it to improve the site.
-
You will have to forgive the bluntness in what I said, but please look at the situation from the eyes of people that have contributed financial donations to show their appreciation for the hard work it takes to operate A.org.
I doubt a single one of them ponied up funds to read stories about Kanye West and his baby mamma, you know? Nothing personal, I know keeping the site running well and with fresh content must be a big task in itself.
-
Indeed. Welcome to hobby land :)
Actually it's more of a freak show here than a hobby land!
-
You weren't too blunt, Duce. If anything, you weren't blunt enough.
-
WTF is "Moonbunny"? Sounds like some goofy late night "adult swim" BS that only a long term Simpson's viewer could appreciate. ;)
Googled moonbunny and nothing but drivel came up on the first page. Didn't care enough to look into it any further.
-
that site makes me laugh. the ultimate Amiga drama site. havent been there in a while though.
-
Maybe not banning people who actually post here would be a nice change of pace. Maybe not running people off just for being right or speaking their mind would be too.
This other stuff I can do without too. He mentioned the amiga once in a how long interview? This is hardly relevant at all in my view. Who cares his music is garbage and his girlfriend got her career from a "leaked" sex tape. Two pop slop culture icons who get enough attention for nothing, lets not give them more here...
-
We need a coffee house dedicated to Kardashians.

You need psicholgist help if you think if this "thread" are amiga news... your answer of "go to google and post amiga news" just sukks... a "real" amiga forum don need news, need more creativity like eab or a1k.
-
On the bright side, at least the post generated a healthy discussion. And that is always welcome :)

Moobunny, without the N letter.
