Apple announces two new iPhones, are we excited or are we bored? What would really be awesome is if there was an Amiga or MorphOS phone.

that's not why I visit Amiga sites & I don't give a rats arse about Apple products. If you do care about such products then I'm sure you wouldn't come here to find out about it;)

Apple releases new phone, in other news man's hat blew off in wind. Here's the weather.

No news here lets move on.

And now it is time for another exclusive piece of apple news,
Apple wants a piece of the Amiga market.
This is shown by the production of MorphOS which uses Apple products,
Steve Jobs started this invasion into the Amiga Market some 20 odd years ago.
Now that Ladies and Gentleman is real news.

this would be a better Announcement

It's so friendly here...
But ya, I don't care either. Give me some underground indie tech news and I'm happy. Apple has all the resources to advert them selves, don't need to read about it here.

Would this be a better news item?

I think they are running a bit risk of making the 'brand' look cheap (and those plastic phones do look very cheap), with Apple it's always been about the brand.
Apple unveils cheaper iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S with fingerprint sensor (http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/technology/apple-likely-to-unveil-2-new-smartphones/2013/09/10/fe107898-1a1d-11e3-a628-7e6dde8f889d_story.html)
But Apple’s downmarket strategy comes with risks. By offering a lower-cost version of the iPhone, Apple could cheapen its brand or cannibalize demand for its more expensive model, analysts have said
Way to go with that legendary innovation Apple, a finger-print scanner, gold paint and plastic cases.....awesome :)

For me personally, I don't care about iPhones, but I do like OSX compared to Windows.
As far as news, this one might be better then Apple's: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24014922 (New Vita)

Sony is taking on the AppleTV with a new $99 PSP for your TV.

And it's the smartest thing Sony have done for a long time.

I'm in the market for a new ROKU, but this may actually be better, and if you are alowed to use your PSN+ account on it and use your free games on it, then I'll get it as soon as is released in the States.

Not plastic, "polycarbonate."
Bootiful Pastels. the '80's live!

...and of course the A7 chip; an ARMv8 based 64-bit a dual-core CPU ("Swift" = Apples own, internal CPU design instead of using ARM's pre-designed cores) running at a 1.7 GHz with an integrated quad-core PowerVR SGX 544MP4 graphics processing unit (GPU). AFAIK, this makes the iPhone 5s the first 64-bit smartphone. The camera with improved "flash" (with much improved performance, enabling much faster focus and a burst mode, etc) is another highlight I suppose.
Maybe not as exciting as the "gold paint and plastic cases" features you choose to highlight, but still...
;)

I have to say the CPU in the 5S is an amazing piece of Tech! I rather like the camera too :)

Have they added USB Mass Storage support yet?

mmm 64 bit.........yawn.
Sorry but to release a 'new' model like this shows about as much of the legendary Apple innovation as putting sugar in your morning cup of Joe.

There are sure happening cool things in the ARM corner of the computer world. We will soon see many new ARMv8 based CPU's, from many manufacturers. :)

I don't really think it was meant to be so very innovating. In many (visible) ways it's still an iPhone 5, especially so the "5c". You know, that's probably why they still call it iPhone 5, and not "iPhone 6". Still some nice improvements though, and I guess iOS 7 will bring a lot more.
Hopefully they will finally make this one with "4G" bands that's used by network providers in *this* part of the world. They have been neglecting this in all iPhone models this far, leaving iPhone users "stranded" at 3G while all the users of the competitions products happily can in 4G.

Looks like they'll work on UK 4G networks.
You are in Sweden aren't you? I assume EU wide 4G networks are basically the same.

Oh yes, I've been drooling over the ARM v8 since I downloaded the ISA document a while back!
They have made some interesting design trade offs that do seem to be pretty good ones!

Its a phone!... then in "other operating system" we can talk about everything.
-
It's running iOS a single user version of OS X. It's far more complex and feature rich than AmigaOS, CP/M, MS-Dos and most flavours of Linux.

Some dvd players, dvb decoders... are using java and no one talks about it here.
