Hi all.
Have just tried to install WB 3.1. by using the following method:
Transferred ADFs to Floppys and made my "brand new" Workbench install set. Started installing Workbench 3.1. and everything seemed to work smoothly. HOWEVER, when I rebootet after the final message ("The installation of Release 3.1. is now complete. To enable Release 3.1. you must reboot your amiga") - WELL, then NOTHING NEW HAPPENS! :-( It still boots in good ole' Workbench 2.1. :-(
I tried installing Workbench 3.1. three times in 3 different languages. Still the same result!
Also, after rebooting I get an error message: "ERROR: can't load keymap KEYMAPS:dk. However, I do not believe that this has got anything to do with the lack of a genuine 3.1. workbench boot.
Anybody have any good ideas on how I should fix this problem?
All best
Anders

You do have the 3.1 rom ?
-
Yes I do, but I actually think I got it figured out now. It IS WB 3.1. - I was just confused, because it looked EXACTELY like 2.1. and I thought there would be a minimal change :-)

The most visible change at the first glanche should be the default color of the Workbench title bar. The WB 2.x is black and the WB 3.x is white.
I miss the nice black bar from my old WB 2.04 (A500 Plus) since i only use 3.1.

The black title bar is down to the older 2.x Kickstarts, not the Workbench version. But I know what you mean.... ;)

Scroll bars are different, too. On 2.x they are white while on 3.x they are 3D.

Yes, that's true. Personally I think the 2.x scroll bars look far better.
