Hello All,
Finally the long awaited sequel from The Commodore Book,
Commodore: The Amiga Years by Brian Bagnall
I have already ordered my copy for $40 AUD including postage to Australia!
Thanks in advance,
Merv Stent
-
I'm fixing to do the same! :-)
-
Still unavailable at Amazon, although my pre-order has not been cancelled...

Hello All,
It just came out on September 1st, people on ebay are selling it at the moment!
Thanks in advance,
Merv Stent

Doesn't show up at Barnes and Noble, either. I just realized I missed his second book, too.
-
Looking forward to when this comes out on either the itunes bookstore or Google store. I find dead tree format books to be a hideous waste of natural resources.
The first C= of his book came out not too long ago in iTunes and is a terrific read.

You make me want to chop down a tree.

Good to know - and hey, keep up the constructive criticism!

Think of all the carbon being burned to keep your eBook reading devices powered up. Over your entire lifetime that would be a far worse waste of natural resources than chopping a tree down to print a book that will also last a lifetime. Tree's are a renewable resource after all.

Don't do it, books can also be printed on recycled paper! :)

Bullshyte. As I have said before, electricity comes from unicorn farts.

There's a lot to be said of physical ownership versus revokable and otherwise volatile digital copies. Yes, I realize physical ownership is volatile in terms of fire, frost, and frippery, but at least not volatile in terms of device upgrades or whims of the provider: I have never moved into a new house and not been able to keep my incompatible books, and I've never had a publisher show up at my door to take back a book because they no longer are interested in its publication or distribution, or because it suddenly violates their every-changing terms of service.
Besides, just think of all the carbon being sequestered in the "dead tree format." With trees being renewable, the more we print, the more we save the planet!!

I love it when Americans do sarcasm properly. :)

Does anyone have this book in their hot little hand yet? It seems like forever since this was first mentioned. Be nice to finally be able to buy and enjoy reading this book.

Cheers. Funny how quickly this thread spiraled out of control, huh? :afro:

Fair enough. I've never been a book collector is all, and have vision issues and most print books the typeface simply isn't large enough for me to read.
Ebooks are a godsend to me, as is Audible.

I dig it. I know people with poor eyesight who appreciate digital books. I try to obtain non-DRM copies to carry on my TouchPad when I travel. (not eyesight-related, just for travel convenience when I'm away from my library.)

I read PDF's converted to Kindle format on my phone and my Kindle Touch all the time but when it comes to buying stuff I want a physical product in my hand especially when it comes to books.
I've only ever bought one eBook and I regret it because I don't feel like I got my money's worth. Lol
Like you say though ebooks are fantastic for people with poor vision.

I too have it pre-ordered on Amazon and they have not changed their status of it. Variant Press's site also hasn't changed. The "Amiga Years" is in the photo but there is no link to it in their 'books' section.
Are we really sure it did ship on 09/01?

I'm certain it didn't ship on the 9th of January. ;)
