Title: dead floppy
Post by: amiga2000 on February 06, 2004, 04:38:20 AM
Looks like my Amiga 2000 internal floppy drive died. I was taking out the floppy drive bracket, and while pulling, the floppy ribbon disconnected from the drive. I did not think this was a big deal, but when I booted up the Amiga, there is a df0: unreadable icon, and it seems like the floppy drive is not getting any power.

I just wanted to know if I should check anything else, like a specific chip on the motherboard, before I trash the drive? How is the floppy cable supposed to be connected to the drive for df0? Is it the middle connector of the ribbon or the end? I think the middle.

Hi,
Just happen to have my cover off to add some stuff.
The end connector is Df0:.

Check the end of the ribbon cable that plugs into the motherboard.  It may have come lose.
