I believe the pc to amiga and amiga to amiga are different wiring of the  parallel cable.

yes it was the cable..just found  my old  parnet cable  from my a500  a570cdrom days  ..worked first time on my 1200 ..only  shows  one drive on each machine  ..guess i gota  setup the cdtv  version  to use the cdrom ..
thanks again ..

Parallell port on Amiga and x86-PC is very different. Especieally the +5V pin from the Amiga can screw up things.

I never have tried this but I guess there is a SANA to Parnet driver.   You can see if you can run TCP/IP over it.  If one of the amigas is on the net and supports IP forwarding you could get the other on the internet with it.  Just use an IP subnet that your NAT router likes and it should be good to go.

Also on the cdrom.. you just need to modify the drives that parnet will "share" and it should work. No need to use the CDTV version.. that might not work like you think anyway.

doesnt see any other drive  but dh0...how i alter that ..cdtv doesnt  work ..wanted to upgrade the 2nd 1200 to amigasys4aga ..that just crashes ..cant  get os3.5  to install
fails after the preinstall ..this machine  only  seems to like a basic 3.1  install  ..no cdrom attached  dont have  a  ide adaptor  for it...an a 8 meg ram expansion  with a faster 020 ..thats why using parnet ...an i miss the  indivision aga  on my main machine  ..so different  ..crap in comparison..
