Terminills has proposed a bounty to update the AROS TCP/IP stack: http://aros-exec.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?start=0&topic_id=8357&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&type=&mode=0
Requirements:
IPv4 (all core features)
IPv6 (all non-crypto core features)
UDP and TCP protocols. SCTP etc. are optional.
Multicast support
compatible with bsdsocket.library
Suggested by Deadwood:
- must be based on AROS-compatible license (BSD, MIT, etc)
- must be able to use existing drivers API at least for IPv4 mode
-
Resource 68k Roadshow then manually convert each line of code to C? ;)

Terminills is matching donations up to $1,500

I would like to see input from as many people as possible before we finalize what the bounty says. :)

i think most are fine with it being pure aros bounty, me included, one can include os3/68 port if necessary so os4 and mos users can try it out at last before deciding if they need it too.
edit: just in case this is interesting for anyone, jens prepares an edition of a new fast zorro lan card, so mayme anybody has an idea if this bears any opportunity, like an example of a driver for instance- (cooperation might popularize aros among amiga users a little)

scroll down for benchmarks.

Couldn't we just keep it simple and say the end product feature list should be a clone of Roadshow's features? :)

As I said on aros-exec the matching is on hold till after xmas :P
but hopefully we can push it up anyway. :)

Speaking of Roadshow, how about a bounty for Olsen to opensource it?
Then the genuine Amiga OS and it's three clones could all standardise on the one codebase.
Just a thought anyway.

Blimey that generous. I hope it's tax deductible as a charitable donation! :)
