I've heard of a hardware device that will allow you to set floppy drive assignments to whatever you want, but can't find anything in a search.
I have an A2500 with both internal floppy bays taken up with a flash card drive and floppy emulator, but no way to boot from real disks. I want to use an external floppy drive to do this. Has anyone heard of this before?
Thanks!
Chris

Yes, it's called the Shuffle Board. You can also get OS 3.1 and force boot to DF2:

Hold both mouse buttons to get into the early startup menu and select DF1/DF2 as the boot device. Assuming you aren't using KS1.3 or below that is.

This might be an easy solution... I really only want to boot from the external drive for games that run on KS1.3 (I have a ROM switcher). Why didn't I know about this boot menu before?? lol

The boot menu is only available on KS2.0 and above.

DOH! I misread the previous post.. No Go for my KS1.3... Surely there's a better option than the Shuffle Board? Seems like I might have an easier time finding a Deneb than that thing!

You can do it in software with Degrader (http://aminet.net/package/util/misc/Degrader), which should be 1.3 compatible.

I'm not sure how I'd use a software solution when I want to go from Kickstart to booting a floppy on DF2.. Maybe I'm confused?
I've seen somethings called a "boot selector" on Amibay, but they seem few and far between as well....
