Title: Huenison released
Post by: saimo on July 11, 2013, 08:21:19 PM
Putting together elements from Arkanoid, Decathlon, Dyna Blaster, Impossible Mission, Oil's Well, Pac-Man, Pang, Qix, Slam Tilt, Space Invaders, Tetris and Vital Light, Huenison is a frantic-paced hybrid of shoot 'em up and colour-matching puzzle. All in retro visuals and synthetic sonorities that recall the revered Commodore 64's SID chip.
Piloting a small mobile cannon back and forth across the bottom of a well, you must cycle through your six coloured beams, firing at the descending onslaught of corresponding coloured bricks. Missed shots bring the deadly zapper closer to your cannon, and missed bricks raise the ground they touch. But this is just to begin with.

With 25 levels, 9 different game modes, kick-ass chiptunes and a ludicrous variety of brick types, Huenison is all about racking up bonuses and score chaining. Your goal? To achieve the top position on the online highscore table and, while at it, to save the world!

Almost two years in development, Huenison was designed and coded for AmigaOS 4 and Windows, and has also been tested and proven to run on Linux and MacOS through Wine.

The demo gets you about a fifth of the full game for free, just enough to give a taster of the retro-gaming chaos to follow!

As of the 12th of July 2013, the game is on sale as a digital DRM-free download from RGCD, at the bargain price of £2.99.

Wow, holy h3%% that's awesome!  Glad I don't have epilepsy because that video probably would've made me have a seizure, LOL.  Nice job for lucky OS4 users!  :)

this is an immensely enjoyable game, and at an incredibly low price. i've been playing the demo nearly every day since it was released. if you have a next-generation amiga running AOS4.1 you owe it to yourself to get this game.

just don't be surprised if you get addicted. :)

Simone, big time congrats on making yet another original game which is like a beam of sunshine when compared to modern games which play all the same to me. Your games for the mighty 64, classic Amiga, AmigaOS4.x make me smile much like when I was a star struck boy staring in awe in front of my all time favourite computers :drink::banana::biglaugh:

What a pity :(
If you excuse me the profanity, you might try it on Windows or Linux/MacOS+Wine.
Anyway, your comment is a big compliment to me. Thanks a lot.

Sorry, no version for any other platform is planned. If I keep on developing, my next efforts will be for an updated version of QUOD INIT EXIT (http://www.rgcd.co.uk/2012/08/quod-init-exit-c64-2012.html), a super-ultra-mega-final version of BOH (http://www.retream.com/BOH) and a brand-new game for C64.
For whoever is curious, some more details are given in this interview (https://www.facebook.com/notes/huenison/rgcd-interview/384266271694267).

This game looks insane! Does it have an "old fart with slow reactions" mode :p

A Mac version would be nice too :(

You're not playing it during the 3 weeks or the 9 days, in particular, are you?

Love this definition!

He he... no sorry, it's just as insane as you said - actually, even more: the chaos the mid/advanced levels bring has yet to be revealed (and experienced) :D

Sorry, but no other ports are planned (see post above yours).
But it should work fine through Wine - give the demo a try: if it works, the game works as well.

Hi all,

quite simply, I'd like to humbly ask you: could you consider voting for Huenison (http://www.retream.com/Huenison) at the 2013 Indie of the Year Awards? The nominations phase has begun just today.
If you think Huenison deserves it, it's sufficient to:
 1. go to http://www.indiedb.com/games/huenison;
 2. click the "VOTE" button.
Quick, anonymous and free (and non-binding: you can vote as many games as you want)!
And if you really like Huenison, you could also spread the word ;)
