For some reason I can not get my Amiga 1200 on the Internet tried and tried but nothing.
So as I have both Ethernet and WIFI Sky and a Pluscom router as well also Ethernet and WIFI
Yes I have tried both Sky and Pluscon but still nothing.
So Ok the PCMCIA WIFI thing what is the best to use that WILL work?
TIA,
Mike.

You need to install CardPatch and CardReset from Aminet or no WiFi or Ethernet card will work.
-
Ahhh right, thank you for that over to Aminet right now.

Hmmm ok tried that but still no good. Let me tell you what is happening.....
Genesis Wizard... all settings seem to be ok that is the DNS entry I copied from Windows 7, thinking this must be the same for the Amiga?
I dont have a clue as to my IP address for the Amiga so I put in 192.168.0.7
This is what I see on Linux for the ethernet.
Hardware address 00:23:54:C4:2E:F4
IPV4
IP address 192.168.0.6
Broadcast address 192.168.0.255
suibnet mask 255.255.255.0
defauilt route 192.168.0.1
primary address 192.168.0.1
But it all seems to come down to the DNS for some reason.
So not reasly sure what to do now, a bit lost you might say.
This is why I thought the PCMCIA WIFI would be a better option.

Not sure if I overlook something but as far as I can see you didn't yet describe what happens. How do you know that it does not work? Are there any error messages? How far do you come? What works, what does not work?
Does Genesis go online? Can you ping yourself? Can you ping the router? Is the DNS "you copied from Windows7" different from the router? If yes, can you ping the DNS?
-
Right.................
Yes Genesis is online with no error messages.
When I use IBrowse after a while it tells me DNS hook up error...............
As for the Router DNS sorry I have no real clue as how to find that out
But when in Aweb 3.5.09
I get the error message "Cant resolve http://68.aminet.net
As for ping sory not sure what to do there.
I am runnig from a SKY modem and WIFI Ethernet router
The router address for that is 192.168.0.1

You might be better off buying this if you find network configuration difficult.

There is a much better TCP/IP stack called Roadshow, but it has to be manually configured in its current incarnation.

Run GenesisPrefs, edit your interface, the rightmost tab should be "resolv". There remove the DNS address you copied from Windows7 and insert the IP address of your router (i.e. 192.168.0.1).
As for ping sory not sure what to do there.
Open a shell window and enter
cd amitcp:bin
and then
ping 192.168.0.1
