I'm trying to get my system sorted out after my lastest rebuild. I can't get BoingBag 1 for OS 3.9 to install. When I click to install it I get the error message 'interpreter: executing non-function'.
Yesterday I did a complete install on a bare harddrive (well an old PC drive), loading OS 3.1 and then 3.9. After loading on Mediator drivers, P96 I tried to Install BoingBag 1 only to get that error message.
In fact I have a lot of trouble installing stuff, don't get me started on Warp3D...

Sounds like you have an old copy of Installer hanging around and it's being used before the v44 one that should have been installed. Try to find it and delete it (it may be in C: or SYS:Utilities), and make sure you don't use any 3rd party installer replacements - none worked very well. If you use v44, you shouldn't have any more problems.

Okay I checked and it looks like I've got Installer v39.1. Anyway, where do I get v44 from? What about installerNG that comes with OS 3.9, is it the same thing?

Don't use InstallerNG, it is not fully compatible to the original Installer.
The Installer V44 program is contained on the OS3.9 CD and is installed automatically into both C: and Sys:Utilities. You must have done something really strange for it to be backlevel.
Why do you install OS3.1 at first ? Boot from your emergency disk and directly install 3.9 onto the empty partition. You might even copy the mediator and graphics drivers onto the emergency disk so it runs on the graphics card at once.
Bye,
Thomas

Copying across V44 seems to have done the trick. Cheers.
