Hi all,
I've ported TeXLive 2012 for MorphOS (see http://www.morphzone.org/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?topic_id=9322&forum=3#102290) and want to upload it to the Aminet. But I tried it many times now, the file does not appear and I'm also unable to write an email to aminet@aminet.net (server timeout). In the IRC channel seems to be no one. Does anyone know another way to contact an admin?

I saw this thread and your PM on AW this afternoon, but I just got home and it's midnight now.
Your packages arrived properly on our server, we're just experiencing some server issues (again). With the server admin being sort of MIA, solving these issue tends to be a rather time consuming process.
I'll get in touch with you tomorrow, sorry about the delay.

I was trying to download from aminet last night and it said I was forbidden? Don't know if this is related or not?
-
yeah that happens to me too.
easy fix
just right click and save target. or save as, what ever browser your using.

When you click a download link, the server randomly chooses a mirror to download from. One of the mirrors is obviously refusing downloads since some days. Just click the link again and you most likely get another mirror.

That's not really a fix. You can as well left-click the link again. And it could happen that your right-click hits the bad server again, so you'd get the same message with a right-click.

any news about my upload? Should I try again?

I use https://filezilla-project.org/ (https://filezilla-project.org/) and have been uploading files without any problems?

@ciVic
Is your upload over 100MB?
In the past Aminet had problems with large uploads. Donno if they were ever fixed.

I uploaded something the other day with no problems. I had to connect to http://ftp://aminet.net/new though rather than http://ftp://main.aminet.net/new (as the latter wasn't being recognised for some reason)

I'm sorry for the delay - I spend my entire spare time today doing stuff for another Amiga website, sometimes I simply lack the motivation to get working on the next site's problems.
I tried to fix the issue yesterday (which is simply a problem with file extensions, one script is too dumb to realize that foo.readme belongs to foo.tar.bz2 (note the two dots)), but the server is in a rather miserable state. And that's a polite description.
I'm trying to reach the server admin (which isn't easy, believe me), I'll get back to you asap.

That's not true, we're hosting several files bigger than 100 MB. I actually remember inviting you to upload an unpacked version of your game.

Where I left off at (years ago) you said "there is no problem anymore" but in fact it would still not accept large uploads using the web interface. I was in really horrible pain at the time and could not write another mail saying "Upload works via FTP with FileZilla but still doesn't work with Web HTML uploading." I worked around the problem so it was "good enough for me" :)
Maybe the web interface got fixed later, I donno.
If the OP tried to upload via the web interface instead of via FTP then he might have had the same problem I had all those years ago.
And yes I am trying to cook up a new version to upload to Aminet: World's Greatest Website! But I am trying to learn C++ and I am stuck trying to find a C++ compiler for Amiga that has a full working debugger. I can't maintain 300,000 lines of source without a full 100% deluxe debugger with chrome wheels, 4-wheel-drive, wings, turbojet engine and even cupholders. :D
