Hi Guys,
I'm sorting out my Final Writer versions (for later sale) and Softwood don't seem to have been very good at labelling version numbers. I don't have an Amiga to test anything any more so I can't just try installing sadly.
I have a Final Writer Release 2 addedum sheet, Final Writer Release 3 Addendum booklet, and 2 full Final Writer manuals (one copyright 1993, one copyright 1995).
It's my belief that I upgraded Final Writer from release 2 to release 5 and I have a version 97 too.
I have 16 floppy disks:
Disk 1 Release 2 (1994)
Disk 1 Release 3 (1994)
Disk 1 Release 4 (1995)
Disks 2-7 (all labelled 1993)
Disk 8 (1995)
Disk 9 (1995)
Disk 1 - Release 5 (1996)
Disk 8 - Release 5 (1996)
Disk 9 - Release 5 (1996)
Final Writer 97 Disk 1 - Install (1997)
Final Writer 97 Disk 8 (1997)
It seems like disks 2-7 were clip art and/or fonts while the program was on disk 1, 8 and 9. I'd like to know if is this a complete version of Final Writer 1997 if possible.

Final Writer is arguably the best word proc on Amiga. You are right, Softwood only updated disks 1, 8, & 9 for most releases.
IMHO, Release 5 was the pinnacle of usability. The next, FW97, added features that caused strange behavior, though it was functional.
According to my disk collection, FW97 only updated disks 1 and 8 (not 9). Your listing seems to match mine.
