Post by: royalcrown on June 14, 2013, 12:01:33 AM
Which accelerator has a dude with a lightning bolt on it on the socket side under the main chip ? I can't find markings on mine and don't wanna mess with it or drag out my composite tv just yet.....

That's the Power Computers logo. Probably a Blizzard as that's what they mostly stocked. check through the links here to compare your accelerator.

This one (http://www.bigbookofamigahardware.com/bboah/product.aspx?id=118), maybe? I think PowerComputing branded a few different accelerators; not sure if the Big Book has pictures of all of them.

They did indeed, they used Viper boards amongst others but they favoured DCE (Blizzard, Typhoon).

@ royalcrown

If it's not on the BBoA than post a picture. Someone will recognise it.

Yeah it gets confusing with a1200 accels sometimes as certain ones were re-manufactured under diff names in diff parts of the world. Also some of the naming Mk2, etc is confusing.

While fixing my 3000D (new workbench disks), I needed my 1200 running so I took it apart and took the junky Escom floppy out:

It is a Typhoon 1230 MK II guys.

Thanks for the help !
