Title: CygnusED available as a download version
Post by: AndreasM on May 30, 2013, 12:11:12 PM
Since today CygnusED 5 is available in the online shop of APC & TCP at a discounted price.

Of course CygnusED will continue as usual to be available on CD.

CygnusED is the most famous text editor for the Amiga.

The program was developed 25 years ago (1986/1987) by Bruce Dawson, Colin Fox & Steve LaRocque (CygnusSoft software) and originally appeared as a self-distribution.

Olaf Barthel developed the program continuously and for some time the version 5 is available.

Obtain detailed information on their support page at the URL http://www.cygnused.de .

But not only CygnusED is now available as a download version. Other products from APC & TCP such as Roadshow, Data Workbench, Gunbee, Marblelous and others are also available as a download version.

Furthermore, PDFs of sellout Amiga Future issues are available from the online shop.

No syntax highlighting or auto complete and you have to pay for it?

Only for 68k and OS4 too. Annotate has 68k, MorphOS, AROS and OS4 builds, syntax highlighting and is free and open source too.

Of course MorphOS users have the excellent Scribble too.

Crikey!  It says Annotate has Folding/Unfolding and Syntax Hiliting!

Woah!  Thanx for the infos!

Now the only problem is that I have 25 years of muscle memory for all the keyboard shortcuts of CED and I would have to relearn all that if I try to switch to Annotate.

No pain no gain? ;)

You can change all the keyboard shortcuts in Annotate to match those of CED by selecting the Hotkeys section in Annotates config tool.

CED is terrific, highly recommended.  Likely my most used program on my SAM 440.
