WookieChat is now available as open source software, released under terms of AROS Public License 1.1. The project is hosted at sourceforge.net:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wookiechat/ (https://sourceforge.net/projects/wookiechat/)
WookieChat is a multi-platform (AmigaOS 3, AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and AROS), MUI-based IRC client which was initially developed by James Carroll. I'm current looking for people interested in either maintaining the MorphOS/AmigaOS builds and/or improving the existing program. If you are interested, just let me know.

Is it an open source because he quit?

As I thought completely...it is open source because he quit. Ironically in that link the only IRC channel I use in Amiga is wookiechat. I think it is as good as mIRC for PC in my opinion so I am completely baffled why he said we would return back to AmIRC is beyond me! Anyways...I have not realized three years past without update....I am completely out of the loop here. So thanks for the link :)

It would be nice if he did the same with SabreMSN

Would be pointless as MSN is obsolete, Microsoft are in the process of shutting down the service and migrating everyone over to Skype. The MSN servers will likely be closed down any day now.
