OK, @80EUR I just couldn't resist and not get a G-rex 1200 PCI busboard. I know about it not being supported anymore and all, but it is a great deal nevertheless. There's a Voodoo 3 driver, Ethernet 10Mbit, Sound, Warp3D...not bad...
Anyways, I used to own one before I sold it and my BPPC card which was of the supported revisions. It was not that bad as everyone says it is, BTW. I didn't have any trouble with it other than the lack of space for the busboard and Fast ATA 1200 controller. OK, on to my question:
I seem to have a BPPC card which is revision 0 now. I know that this revision needs to be updated to 2 (right?) in order to work with G-rex 1200, however is this an absolute must or just a recommendation?
I'll probably keep this G-rex in the corner until I find a revision 2 BPPC some day, so I could use it, in case revision 0 BPPC (and I am almost sure) is not compatible.

Hi!
Well i ise a Grex and for sure there are enough drivers to have fun with it! Some old Grex may work with Blizzard rev0, but in some case (like mine) u have to upgrade the firmware to rev2. Only DCE can do that.
Hope it helps!!!
:)

Upgradeable only @ DCE? And that's the end of this discussion. :-)
-
Well i think it s only at DCE. In my case it was done, and it works great.
;-)

I would do it, but only if I was able to walk in there and wait while they do it. :-)

ok, tip of the day..
the grexx outperformed my mediator back when my mediator was new, now i dont know!
but my grexx melted!!!! after 12 hours! or so..
(why i bought an mediator)
anyway revision 0 normally NEVER works with grexx, but i have heard a few stating it worked, so you might be in luck.
Amiga.FR might be able to help u on the upgrade, but i would NEVER send the card to DCE!! and i mean NEVER!
good luck
