Hello everyone! I have a problem with the Oktalyzer program... I can't manage to create new patterns in the program. I can only fill one set of blocks, which is 4 or 8 blocks, but I can't really get the blocks "clean" to create new patterns. It's like it only loops the same pattern all over. I believe I have the 1.1 version...
If anyone knows the program, please help me!

The Oktalyzer I got many years ago would not even work on any of my Amigas. I probably tried it on my A3000 with KS2.04 or 3.0. But it was a century ago and I can't remember.
All I can say is it is probably temperamental about what Kickstart you use. So try some different ones.
I have an old 8-channel Oktalyzer mod somewhere that I wanted to convert to some more modern format like for example Octamed Sound Studio (which supports up to 64 channels).
Oktalyzer was a really kewl format back in the day.
Why do u want to use Oktalyzer in 2013 tho?

Well, you know, I just want to learn different trackers, and this is the one I have, so that's why. :)
What does the kickstarter do? I am pretty new to the A500.
The thing is, when I create new patterns and change position, the notes stay the same, and if I change the notes, it affects both patterns.
Example:
pos: 0
patt: 0
-E-
-E-
-E-
-E-
and so forth
Now, when I want to create a new pattern at a new position it looks like this.
pos:1
patt:1
-E-
-E-
-E-
-E-
the same as above
Now, I wan't to change the notes.
pos:1
patt:1
-E-
-G#-
-F#-
-E-
and so forth
Now I go back to
pos:0
patt:0
-E-
-G#-
-F#-
-E-
And so forth... It looks the same! I just don't get it!

use digibooster or protracker :(

Kickstart is the ROM chip that contains the core of the OS.
Oktalyzer is very very very old and the programmer did not seem to fully understand all the best techniques of coding on the Amiga. So either your version is a buggy version and you could try to find a different version of Oktalyzer or your version works perfectly when used on a specific Kickstart version.
Oktalyzer was not all that popular and didn't get a lot of support like other trackers did. This is sad. As I said, I never had a version that worked correctly back in the old days. I am thinking it only works correctly on a very specific hardware configuration.
Most other trackers work on whatever hardware configuration you happen to have.
If u r on a quest to explore all of the Amiga's tracker formats then you will need to mortgage the wife and sell the kids because you won't be coming back for a few years. :D
I have an oktalyzer replay routine in my game (available free on the internet) but the replay routine does not even work on modern CPU's even though it got updated! Argh! I really wanted to support oktalyzer mods because a friend gave me some to put in the game. But I can''t because the replay routine is borked. :(
