I have in my possession what appears to be a brand new in the box amiga 1000 pc + 1080 color monitor + 1010 drive...all of which appear to be unused? I do not want to open any plastic in fear that is truly unused and never opened...how does one value this?
Almost forgot...has 56 mint condition magazines/manuals...i made a list and have pics of them all too...

One of those went recently for $9500 on ebay, but that is *not* typical, LOL. ;)
-
The one for $9500 was sealed refurbished, but yes, not typical.
In the pictures it looks like the plastic is yellow on the keyboard, mouse. Is it really yellow or white like on the box?
Yellow could mean that it was opened and used exposed to the UV light etc.
You already opened the box, so it's not sealed anymore (did you have to cut the original seal on the box to open it?)
Put it up on Ebay and see how much you can get for that.
-
It's only "worth" what someone will buy it for. If you want to know what to ask, my suggestion is to go with what you can accept for it, or just open it and enjoy using it.
-
It looks old and well used to me and maybe just put back into it's original box and into storage.

Or give it to me, I will hug it and read it a story every night before shutdown

The boxes have been opened, and there are wire ties not tieing any wires in the picture near the memory cartridge paper, so it's hard to believe it really has never been out of the plastic wrap before.
I'll give you $100 for it. :)

I'll give you billt's $100 dollars for it, and add a cool five spot for you.
I would say if it's yellowed, it's likely been used so it's prob in the used ballpark price wise. Hard to say also because you don't know if it boots or not (if yellowed). If it's not yellowed, I prob wouldn't find out myself either.

that was my perception from the pics. If it was really "new" it would be very "white" what causes "yellowing" is sunlight. So if it has been really in the box all this time that wouldnt happen!

What would be the best course of action at this point?
-
Yellowing= half a decade worth of use so worth 100s not 1000s. Monitor 50-75, A1000 200-300, 1010 25-30.
-
On Ebay, the last few 1000's went for $150 with monitor and somewhere under $200 for the unit and kb in the US.
-
This probably worth a bit more as it is boxed.
ebay item 140959242885 (boxed and not fully tested but seems to be white though photo will not garantie this is not yellowed) => 287$

Yellowing
That is what I saw in the pictures as well..could be the lighting etc.. but I'm sure the machine has been used, despite what the op has listed above. I sent an email asking for better images and asked if the the manuals + software disks were included. I got an answer along with some attitude. He assumed I was going to lowball him an offer, and he seemed not willing to go "digging" through the boxes to find the OS disks etc. huh..
Not sure if I'm interested anymore.

The best way to do it, go to Ebay, start the auction from your minimum, like $300 or any number that you are comfortable and then see how high it would go, that's it.
Post your ebay links on all 3 Amiga forums and watch it go.
Test it first. Maybe it's been upgraded internally with Rejuvenator II, with better CPU and RAM, you'll never know unless you test it.
Or maybe it's broken and someone just put it in the box and store it in the attic.

Im digging it out tonight and getting full details...the house i got it from, the guy was very meticulous and had alot of items, brand new and all functional. I have no reason to believe it doesnt work...look at the condition it was stored and for how long...ill post pics and details about it tonight...best case scenerio, all disks are there and it all works with (hopefully) no yellowing...will let u all know later this evening...

it doesn't have the disk/s? monitor fires up and system...but that is about all...what now?
