Was just wondering ... will IGAME work on an A500 machine ? I can't find any info on minimum system requirements anywhere ...
I do have a hdd and 8 mb of fast ram, but I'm more concerned about ocs chipset and a good old 68k not being able to run it.
thanks.

I don't know if it runs on 68000 but I just tested in under WinUAE on OCS and it run just fine.
iGame is awesome, but it will be rather slow in an unaccelerated Amiga imho.
Imho, just use X-Bench which rox and it's really light
-
Runs okay with my 500 but that's with a 030, 68010 didn't work too well was very slow. So I'd recommend an 020 or higher for your 500.

IGame will work on an A500 with some fast memory. I tested it on an A600 with 4 MB of fast RAM.

You'll need the 68000 versions of the MCCs (and to change a tooltype flag to avoid showing previews IIRC, I didn't bother recompiling render.library for 68000 as iGame already worked):

It seems, the current iGame version requires render.library and there is no working version of render.library for MC68000. I unsuccessfully tried to run iGame on my Amiga 500, SnoopDos says the render.library is the last step, no other loading happens after that. Is here anyone who has different experience?
My setup is: A500, AmigaOS 3.2.1, Ace2b (https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/shop/product/ace2.html) (2MB Chip), AlfaPower (http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/alfapower) (8 MB Fast + CF, OktaPussy (https://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/oktapus)).

@DaMi1 I would recommend you disable the screenshots. This will make that requirement gone, and it will be faster on your system.
-
Hi Walkero, thank you, disabling the screenshots helped, now the iGame 2.1 works well on my MC68000. 👍
-
I am glad it is working on your system fine. Have fun.
-
Hi, sorry for such a late reply on this post but i'm having the same issue.
I may sound unbelievably dumb here but what are screenshots and how do I disable them?
Thanks in Advance.
-
@joe
The screenshots are shown in the top right corner of the iGame window. If you don't see any image when you run the app, they are disabled.
Can you please give more info what issue you have and which iGame version do you have installed?
-
Thanks for the reply.
I can’t get Igame to open at all.
I have an Amiga 500+ with 2mb Angus and an aca500+ running os and kickstarts 3.1 and 3.2
I have installed igame 2.1b2, mui38 along with the guigfx and texteditor files.
When I try to launch Igame through shell it says can’t open render.library v30or greater.

You need to download this:
https://aminet.net/package/dev/misc/renderlib68k
But it only supports 68020+ CPUs.

@joe
iGame 2.1b2 is really old. Have you tried the latest version? There are a lot new features and also a check if renderlib is there, otherwise it doesn't use it and should work fine.
If you want to use this old version, check the amigaguide that comes with iGame, at the tooltypes section. There should be information what tooltypes you should use to avoid the usage of renderlib, if you want. Also, you can disable the screenshots completely.

Hello,
I just managed today to get the latest iGame 2.4.6 to run on my plain A500 - 1MB CHIP - 8MB 'FAST'.
I had trouble getting it to run for days.
Installed latest MUI.
Install the 68k version of MUI TextEdit MCC & MCP. Test using the demo supplied. Takes about half a minute to load on 68k :-)
And add a tooltype to the icon of iGame stating 'NOGUIGFX'.

@aerno
This is great news having that running.
Takes about half a minute to load on 68k :-)
Is this with a list of games, or empty? I will create a system like yours, trying to emulate it and investigate if there is anything I could do to make it faster. I am afraid that this is because of MUI. Do you experience this slow loading on other MUI applications, like for example, AmIRC, Wookiechat or IBrowse?
And add a tooltype to the icon of iGame stating 'NOGUIGFX'.
I believe the tooltypes are not used any more in iGame.They were removed, and the preference’s file is used. If you remove it, it fails to start or still works fine?
I appreciate your feedback and using iGame.
