Title: case of the caution condor
Post by: lionstorm on February 02, 2004, 06:09:09 AM
Hi all,
Got this one from BTTR and is supposed to be running from the HD but I can not get it to work. Only thing I get is a black screen with a blue pointer.
I tried jst and EXECUTE argument just in case the game did not like my os3.9 and A1200PPC but to no effect.
Anyone successfull in launching it ?
Same problem with slamtilt aga from BTTR.

tried turning off your BPPC?? don't remember now what key you should press during boot to disable it.. think it may be the "s" key for the whloe board and  "2" for 68k only (not sure about this)..

bad idea because the HD is a scsi device from the BPPC so switching off the accelerator means switching off the HD.

I had a similar problem (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5295) a few time ago. Here is what I did:

Quote

I found something that made my problematic WHDload installs, finally run: disabling the WBstartup, I was able to run some games which meant that something was going on with a patch or a similar prog.

The culprit was the dnetc_ppc client!!! All I had to do was to stop the client from the Myzard GUI. Probably it was creating interrupts that couldn't be handled by WHDLoad...

thanks Cass but I am trying to get working already installed games but maybe you are right and I could grab slamtilt adf and install with whd but what about the other one ?
BTW I am wondering if any legal games found on different places over the net are original ? I mean if BTTR got the green light from the developpers but do not have the game themselves, they could still put a cracked version.
