Title: Catweasel problems
Post by: DGB on February 01, 2004, 08:12:29 PM
Hi All,
Some time ago I bought a Catweasel s-class Zorro 2 controller from Software Hut.  While setting up my 2000 I had it installed for a brief period and it seemed to work with one floppy drive and a CD drive.  I removed it for a while to do other work and then I had to re-install OS 3.9 because I managed to corrupt the OS.  After getting the OS installed I decided to put the Catweasel back in and try it again.  The software would load and it seemed to recognize the fact that the Catweasel board was installed but neither the floppy drives or the IDE CD drive was ever recognized.  I tried inserting and removing floppies and CD's several times.  I also noticed that the three small processor chips on the Catweasel were quite hot.  They weren't hot enough to burn me but it was warm enough to be unpleasant to touch for long periods.  I am wondering if the board is toast now or if there are other problems and it is normal for those chips to run hot.   Any thoughts on this would be appreciated
