Title: Replacing the guts of a A4000 keyboard...?

Hi all,

Have recently broken the F6 key on the keyboard of my A4000.  I do have a spare internal A1200 keyboard here.  Is it possible to swap the two (i.e. take the 4000 keyboard apart and put the 1200 keyboard into the case?) and save myself trying to find a new 4000 keyboard?

;-) It depends upon what needs to be swapped.  If it is just the mechanical parts for the F6 key, then there should be no problem.  

:-( If the circuit board itself is damaged, then I suspect that the A1200 board will not connect electrically to the 4000 without an adaptor of some sort.

However, the insides of the A3000 and A2000 keyboards are identical enough to be interchangeable with the A4000.  For what that's worth.

i broke a key like you.  i found the easiest and cheapest way out of it was to get the keyboard off an old A500. it fits the A4000 case perfectly but the keys don't feel the same as an A4000 genuine keyboard
