I've gotten permission from the author
of 'FileWorks32' to put it out there.
He hasn't been supporting it for several
years so it is what it is.
I use it all the time.
If you use it and enough interest is expressed
maybe I can talk him into either working on an
updating or releasing the code.
If you try it and like it I would like some
feedback to let him know.
As of now I guess it can be considered FreeWare.
The question is 'Where to upload it to'??
-
aminet?
-
err, sorry to piss on your bonfire, but isn't aminet for amiga apps?
-
Aminet?? no

Just gave it a try. Not a bad program, but it's quite dated. If it supported the Windows shell and had text labels for buttons I'd like it more.

Try Total Commander.
It works the same, but is not outdated, and supports external Zip programs, image viewers etc.
-
Is the Windows version of DOpus not any good then?
-
@StevenJGore
It replaces the whole Windows shell. It's kind of good, but very bloated IMO.
What I'd like is a port of some sort of Directory Opus 4 for Windows. That I'd love.

Yup. Total Commander rules! It's far away the best filemanager for
Windows.
Forget DOpus for windows (it sucks a lot), Gnome (it sucks much more)
and Explorer.exe (it sucks EVEN more). And give a try to Total
Commander. I like it very much :)

@JoNty
Try Magellan Explorer, its available at Enriva.com (http://www.enriva.com/)

For many things, the Windows version is an improvement over Windows Explorer, but it is a mere shadow of the Amiga versions in many important respects IMHO.
Complex file selection (matching files between listers) is decidedly missing and filenote support is goofy (as it not natively supported by Windows)
I use Amiga DOpus Magellan on Windows where I can, but there are some path and file name limitations.

Dopus 6 for Windows is a tremendous improvement over Windows Explorer, for me it makes file management on any
version of Windows bearable. Its picture viewer is one of
my favorate features. I've used it on laptops ranging from
PII 266 thru P4 2200 and found it to be fast and easy to use on all. It IS a large program to be sure, but it is highly configurable and does everything I want it to do (except look like the Amiga versions.
