Title: ScummVM AGA and AHI now broken :-(

Okay, so not sure what has happened but AHI sound is now stuttering under ScummVM.

Was working fine so unsure, no changes have been made :-/

I have heard there is a setup tool for AHI but cant find it anywhere, anyone know of or have a link? :-)

Hiya,

Just look under Prefs for your AHI config tool.

Also have a read of the ScummVM readme, it tells you how you should setup AHI for the best performance :)

AHI 4.x performs much better than 6.x IIRC, you may want to give it a try.

Have set it up per the ScummVM readme, music/unit 0/unit 1/unit 2/unit 3 with the preferences tool.

Using 4.18 as Nova suggested.

Stacks setup.

Might have to try and remove all references to AHI and install it again :-)

Was working great could even play Sam and Max fairly well, apart from the mini games which had lag.

I read in a forum somewhere that there was a diagnostic tool that helped you setup AHI? Can't find that thread anywhere.

Still broken, so not sure :-/

Maybe a setting with ScummVM 060. It pauses when playing a sound so looses sync.

Have dropped the quality right back but still does it.

Have deleted AHI/scummvm and started again still same thing.

Will have another play this weekend :-)

Very strange???

If it helps, ScummVM doesn't write to anywhere on your system apart from the install directory (eg it does not setup any environment variables).   So if you wipe the install directory and started again it can't be a ScummVM setting.

Maybe it's some patch or something you've installed recently?

Also try some other software that uses AHI and see if that works ok on your system.

Will do, going to have a sit down tonight when I get some peace and quiet and have a play.

It's very weird, I've started looking through my startup-sequence/user-startup to see if there's anything in there.

I have another drive here which is an old backup might see if that's doing the same thing.

Tested it on Genetic species which uses AHI sound is awesome no issues.

So went back to scummvm, back to the pausing issue.

So now going through cleaning up my startup-sequence :-/

Perhaps check out good ol' SnoopDos to see if there's anything unusual happening?
