Title: A2286 AT board --how to use..
Post by: TheMagicM on January 30, 2004, 04:17:03 PM
well the A2000 is here..  Havent taken too good of a look, but it has 1.3, 1 meg ram, 52meg hd on a A2090A controller (I think..should be at least that), has 2 spare A2090A controllers, A2286 bridgeboard, a seperate PC hard drive on its own controller and another PC card (serial, parallel). 5.25" floppy, dual 3.5" drives.

Question is..how do I use the bridgeboard? I've never had one before but would like to check it out.

Well you gonna need the SW for it ...... :-o

First I would advice searchin the HD for anything that looks like a PC (the icon
for the SW should stick out, just to long since I used the 2088 to remeber what it
looked). You may also look for anything mentioning "Janus".

Once you found it, just start it, and it should atleast open a 640x200 (CGA) window
on your WB, even if nothing is configured (assuming you don't have any GFX-card
in the ISA-slots that is). This should give you a standard PC-BIOS, and try to boot
from floppy (maybe even from a (hidden) hardfile/partition on the Amiga-HD.

If you can't find any SW, google for "Janus", or try here (http://www.amigarealm.com/archives/Amiga Software Drivers/) ....
