Found in the Attic, untested.
Selling on my friends ebay account because I've reached my monthly limit as a new user in the category. So please ignore the zero feedback and check mic-elle for feedback

Nice one haven't seen one of those for years, the last time I saw one of light pens was when I went to the last Commodore / Amiga show in London in 19??.

Interesting thing. I think not everybody knows what a light pen is. I had to google it myself to be sure.
I came across this review of it, if its the same device: http://www.crashonline.org.uk/03/trojan.htm
So basicly it looks like this will give you a sort of touchscreen on your amiga by using this pen. I asume it will need a specific driver to work, so only os-friendly programs will work.
Not sure if it will require a CRT monitor or if it works with LCD/LED monitors?
And what interface is it connected to?
-
It connects to the mouse port. There are 2 buttons on it which equate to the left and right mouse buttons.
I don't know it it works on every Amiga OS. I only ever used it on an Amiga 500 with kickstart 1.3

Lightpens only work with CRT monitors.

That takes me back. I used to have a lightpen for my C64. Simons BASIC had commands for checking for the pen's position and I remember rewriting a database program of mine to use sprite icons for the pen to select.

And even if they worked with LCDs, I wouldn't fancy scraping a lightpen around my display. I get upset when someone prods it with a finger. :D

Oh, do you still have that program? Yours might be the first and only C64 database to use a lightpen.

Unfortunately not. All the C64 software I had written (back in the 80s while I was in school) was stolen in the early 90s. I went off on an Op Tour while I was in the Army and by the time I got back someone had nicked my floppy disks from storage. :-(
I'd already switched to the Amiga back then so I had no real interest in sitting down and rewriting anything (I think I was messing around with GFA BASIC about then).
To be honest, it was more "proof of concept" and I rapidly came to the opinion that having to pick up a pen, select icons, put down the pen, type stuff, pick up the pen... etc, etc was a pain in the backside. Choosing options using the F Keys was so much easier even it it wasn't as "cool". :D
