(http://www.amibay.com/images/icons/icon5.gif) A4000D Front fascia/faceplate repair
I acquired a 4000D with damaged (broken) faceplate tabs. I want a faceplate that is still removable, but reliable.
Replacing the plastic tabs (with home-brew) would be unreliable (and likely break again). Replacing them with metal tabs would be problematic in fusing the metal to the plastic. Fashioning a plastic wedge (a right-angle 1cm X 1cm or simply a 1cm cube) to make a flat surface on the backside of the faceplate would work using a Velcro-to-Velcro connection; it would be reusable, but time consuming to locate although I could hot-knife it from unused plastics...
What are others doing as a fix this situation?
(I've listed this question elsewhere, too)
