Hi!
I am trying to evaluate webfx on the Amiga as it looks like a very useful program to make animated gifs with transitions, fades, etc.
I tried to download the webfx1.7 archive from the webfx website
(http://cd.textfiles.com/amigama/amigama199803/WWW/www.intercom.it/fsoft/webfx.html),
but the archive only contained a drawer full of Classes.
I found a WebFX 2.2 archive online and have tried using it, but it constantly gives me the error message "ImageFX is missing" even though I have ImageFX 4.1 installed on my system.
I tried e-mailing the author but the address on the website is not longer functional.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get webFX running. Thanks.

There's another abandoned piece of software "Gif-Toolkit" - author not reachable.
Too bad.

When u find the ultimate gif animation tools for the Amiga please tell me as I am very interested in the subject. I would dearly love to play with gif aniamtors but as a coder I just never have time for fun stuff like this. :(
I am sure if you try 20 different gif anim tools for Amiga that you will find a great 1 or 2.
Tho it seems like u r crippling urself by trying to do animgifs on a lowly A500. An A1200 would be absolutely perfect for animgifs. A1200 has all 16 million colors that animgifs use. Animgifs can only easily display 256 colors in any 1 frame which coincidentally is exactly the same limitation that A1200 has.
A1200 was made for animgifs. :knuddel:

I actually do all my productivity work (i.e. graphics) in a WinUAE productivity setup (heavily tweaked OS3.9 setup).
My A500 is my "fun" real hardware system for the retro/nostalgic fix.

Any particular reason you don't use AmikitOS?

I prefer to understand all the tweaks and updates I do on my Amiga setups, rather than use a third party package. So I like to start from a blank slate (clean OS installation) and add things manually from there.
