Title: WinUAE Message Box & Backdrop Issues
Post by: Managarm on February 20, 2013, 02:25:22 PM
Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me with the following two niggling issues I have with WinUAE and Workbench 3.9? Whenever I start the emulation up, it always complains that "The installed LIBS:Picasso96/rtg.library (40.3945) should be updated...", yet as far as I can see, it is the latest version!

Also, I can't get the window around the Workbench screen to permanently disappear, even though I select the menu option Workbench -> Backdrop and de-select it. I've done this and then done a snapshot of the Windows and icons.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob.

There is a special rtg library for WinUAE, I believe, that makes RTG under UAE much faster.
It's been a while since I installed UAE and had to do this.

I believe this special library is stored in the WinUAE folder.  You need to copy it over to your Amiga Workbench partition / drive / SYS: and replace the rtg library installed by default.

Click into an empty area of the desktop, then select Workbench -> Backdrop from the menu, then select Window -> Snapshot -> Window from the menu. (Do not activate another window inbetween).

You don't need to snapshot icons.

Make sure that envarc:sys/wbconfig.prefs either does not exist or is write enabled.
