Looks like it belongs in a big box Amiga and not an A1200?

No i am sure i can squeeze it in the 1200 some where lol,but you could be right .
by the way its only as big as a post card 5x3 inches at the most and has A side printed and B-side printed on it so it looks like you could turn it over ,or make sure it is the right way up.

Looks like an A501 clone to me, a 512k trapdoor RAM expansion for an A500.

With one chip in wrong ;)

Edit: the switch disables the extra RAM for games that can't cope with it.

W.T.S. Electronics A500 Pro-RAM

Yours doesn't have the optional clock and battery.

Half a point to me for correctly guessing it didn't belong in the A1200  ;)

It is definately a trap door memory expansion board not an accelerator board.

The fact that it has a switch tells me that it is probably for the A500.

I would not plug it in with that chip reversed. Doing that could blow a chip, which may have already happened.

Can you send us a pic of the under side?

Can you try to take a new pic and get the writing on the chips in focus?

Heh, yes, A500 stuff. Nothing for your A600/A1200 dynamic duo I'm afraid :)
You could sell it for lunch money, or keep it for the time when you get the urge to get an A500 as well :D

Perhaps 1MB the memory expansion with selector to 512KB/1MB, it remember my memory expansion of 512KB for my Amiga500, and if I remember it there was memory expansions with this feature choose between 512kb/1MB to run some games.

I actually have one of these boards with the on/off switch but mine looks different.

Hey, what games required that the switch be turned off? I have never used mine. It's always been on.

I have one too, this is great for an A500 cause it gives u 1MB chip. I don't remeber if this gives 1,5MB to A500+ I have to bring them down from my closet to test it. DPaint will work fine with such amount of RAM and you can add fast from the left port. If you have an A500 :-D
